one more blog to surf...

after mike's wonderful message last week, a couple of you asked for his blog
so here's the link: mikeraditya.blogspot.com
you can read reflections and stories about him and his lovely wife, lean choo
oh, tell him he's done a great job at youth service (and persuade him to come back often!)

anyway, i was reading thru mike's blog - to, you know, ensure there's no R(A) stuff
and one entry really struck me - about teaching of the Word

i cant agree more that to bore people with the Word of God is a crime!!

"Indeed it is a great privilege to be able to teach the Word of God. It is my responsibility to
give my best to this task to do justice to the unsearchable riches of the Word. As I reflected
on my recent experiences I must admit that there are times I feel a little tired of teaching.
This is not because I do not enjoy teaching. This is due to the rush in preparing for the
various lessons I have been given the privilege to teach...

Thus I thank God for the challenge, encouragement and reminder given to me through the
teaching I watched today. May God help me as I am making some commitments in
my heart. Firstly, I am committed to never stop learning and growing. Secondly, I am
committed not to bore people with the Word of God to the best of my ability."

as someone who has to preach/teach 700 ADD people almost every week,
i've long learned that how we teach is almost as important as what we teach!
there's no point preparing good content if our delivery sends people into the deep realm..

yes, am committed to continue growing in always making the Word relevant and pratical!!

speaking of which, this weekend ps jeff is going to preach a message you cant miss!
it's a subject i'm super passionate about and that is so, SO important for us
care leaders, if you're smart, get our people to come even if you have to crate them
think we'll have to record this one properly and send it to overseas friends, too

i'm stoked!!! =)
