the lemonade lesson

i have just chopped off my locks to disastrous results
didnt realise how bad it was till i looked into the mirror today
instead of my head, i saw a giant mushroom with tufts growing out of it

*blanched*

the NED girls were kind enough to compliment it (out of compassion?)
but the guys shot me at point-blank range by laughing at my face
man, i have to somehow fix this hairdo before the weekend comes

on a lighter note, i've finally collected my blue IC today
those close to me know my journey towards getting PR had been dramatic
it came to a point that queuing at ICA became a daily hobby
i even got to know the reception lady by name!

looking back, i have many people to thank.. (academy speech time!)
PJ for always understanding and giving me time for my queuing hobby
claud, pris n eelee for listening to all my complaints
daniel for queuing at ministry of manpower on sat 7AM with me
shuz for trying to find a driver to 'smuggle' me out spore haha!
jiehui for driving me to JB (and getting detained together, how exciting!)
rafee for being my constant ICA companion, waiting for queue #7362
fenny, our HR manager, for helping me fill up never-ending forms
dennis for always offering to help in numerous occassions
gideon, dewen n sharlene for SMS-es that lighten up my sian days
not forgetting everyone else who've prayed for me, thanks much!
and livi melinda, fellow nomad.. who knows where the road may lead us

there was one day i was racing anxiously towards ICA before its closing time
when it just happened:

my sandal's strap snapped!

i looked below and considered...
if i dragged my feet (and the useless sandal) slowly to the 5th storey
i may risk missing the counter closing time by mere minutes!

so i stooped down, picked up my sandal and started walking barefoot

it was so un-glam, so murphy-law, so hilarious that i just started LAUGHING!
i laughed across the pavement and laughed all the way into the building
[imagine the sight of a woman carrying her sandal, laughing to herself
i wonder why the security guard was not alarmed at all!]

why did i laugh? cos God just shared a joke with me
it's like him telling me, "chill out, woman! why so tense?"
one hilarious moment put everything back into perspective
the kind of worries we have - they're so insignificant! petty matters!!
why worry? doesnt our Hevenly Father know what we really need?

the saying goes, "if life throws you a lemon, make lemonade!"
in SMV (shirls melinda version), it'd say:
"if life throws you a lemon, wink at heaven, make lemonade and throw a party!"
cos sitting around sulking won't make anything less sour anyway!

this is the day he has made; i will rejoice and be glad in it
and each day is a dee-dah day!! =D

hee... yah, I read about another blogger's never ending stories of how lining up and getting the passport chopped to JB and back years ago. It is a super tired thing to do. So Congrats!!! :)

Since God shared with you to chill out, why not show your new style here as well ;) hee...
