becoming best friends with God

my first Qn: us as best friends? haha! this never fails to amaze me
the pairing is like prince and pauper. armani suit and $2 slippers.
it's just odd, too odd. what a rum!

despite all its queerness, that's the real deal!
my mighty king confiding his secrets in me.. hur hur
and how can i nurture this relationship?

Through constant conversation.
You can carry on a continuous conversation with him throughout your day,
talking with him about whatever you are doing or thinking at that moment.
Often we feel we must 'get away' from our daily routine,
but this is only because we haven’t learned to practise his presence all the time.
Because God is with you all the time,
no place is any closer to God than the place where you are right now.

Through continual meditation.
Establish a friendship with God by thinking about his Word throughout your day,
recalling verses you have read or memorised and mulling them over in your mind.
When you think about a problem over and over, that’s called worry.
When you think about God’s Word over and, that’s mediation.
If you know how to worry, you already know how to mediate!
You just need to switch your attention from your problems to Bible verses.
