earnestness

the sentence that struck me the most today:
elijah was a man just like us; he prayed earnestly...
often i think of bible figures as special breed; they did miracles because they're extraordinary
but the truth is that elijah's a man just like us! he ain't a martian or superman
his power came from his earnest prayer - God simply cant ignore such earnestness and trust

since i've got time, i wanna write a bit about my team
they just gave me a belated birthday treat: teochew porridge buffet - totally love it!
but the meal's only as enjoyable as the company and the company's, well, bonkers? unhinged?
it's a bit hard to find an adjective that sufficiently describes their mental balance (or its absence)
so i'll go visual and try to recall some shots of the night...

dennis and daniel re-enacting the heroic rescue
sharlene pounding on the guys... mo-mo-mo-monsterkill!!
the table putting in bloody cockles in dennis' dessert in attempt to poison him
shuz showing her true colour by betraying gideon's trust
gideon getting strangled for the botched poison mission mentioned above
tamar in such great mirth she couldnt stop rocking back and forth
eelee with her new 3G phone shooting the murder carnage with a glee
and many more scenes deemed unsuitable for younger audience

in short, it's no less than a miracle that i still manage to keep my sanity among these people
would put up some pics of evidence when i lay my hands on them
just that after that i'd have to go on witness protection program - prolly hiding in timbuktu
